Beginner CanSkate
Especially for the new skater! Beginner CanSkate is designed for children who are just starting out on the ice. Using fun games and engaging activities, this program helps skaters build confidence while learning the basics of skating. Skaters work on fundamental skills such as balancing, standing up, and gliding on two feet, progressing toward short two-foot and one-foot glides, simple two-foot turns, snowplow stops, and even beginner backward skating.
This level focuses on Stages 1 and early Stage 2 of the CanSkate program. Open to skaters ages 3 and up. Skaters who have already started working on Stage 2 skills or beyond should register for Intermediate CanSkate.

Intermediate CanSkate
Intermediate CanSkate is designed for skaters working on Stages 2 to 4 of the CanSkate program. Skaters must be able to move confidently and independently around the ice
This level focuses on building speed, balance, and control, while developing gliding, stopping, and turning skills—both forwards and backwards, on one and two feet. Skaters are introduced to crossovers, power techniques, and begin learning preliminary jumps and spins.
Intermediate CanSkate is an ideal program for those preparing to move into figure skating, hockey, or ringette, as it provides strong foundational skills that support all ice sports.

Academy
The Academy level is a bridge program designed to prepare skaters for entry into the STARSkate stream. In this comprehensive, coach-led program, skaters are introduced to all four disciplines of figure skating: Skills, Dance, FreeSkate, and Artistic. Academy focuses on building strong
foundational technique through structured lesson plans, while also encouraging growth through independent practice. Skaters develop confidence, discipline, and a well-rounded skill set as they transition from learn-to-skate into more advanced training.

Adult/TeenSkate
This inclusive program is designed specifically for adults and teens who want to learn to skate or improve their existing skills in a supportive, flexible environment. We’re back to designated ice just for you!
Whether you're stepping on the ice for the first time, returning after years away, or looking to sharpen skills for hockey or figure skating, this program is tailored to your needs.
We offer instruction in basic skating skills for beginners, drills and edge work for hockey players, and introductory or refresher figure skating techniques. Coaches adapt lessons to individual goals, making this a great option for skaters of all backgrounds and abilities.

PowerSkate A
The program emphasizes excellent technique in forward and backward strides, stopping, starts, agility, balance, pivoting, and crossovers. In addition, the 10-week session includes cardio and strength conditioning to build overall skating performance.
This session is NOT a learn-to-skate class. Skaters should be able to skate a full length of the ice forward with some speed, and a width of the ice backward.
PowerSkate A is designed specifically for players in U7 through first-year U11 (Hockey Canada) and is also suitable for athletes who may not yet be on a hockey team but are ready to develop strong skating skills.

PowerSkate B
Designed for more advanced players, PowerSkate B emphasizes excellent technique in forward and backward strides, stopping, starts, agility, balance, pivoting, and crossovers.

StarSkate
Our STARSkate program offers a complete weekly training experience for skaters on the test and competitive pathway. With a balance of coach-led instruction and independent practice, skaters develop strength, technique, and artistry across all disciplines—Skills, Dance, FreeSkate, and Artistic. Specialized sessions throughout the week focus on power, performance, and precision, while monthly Sunday Skates provide valuable extra ice time to fine-tune skills and gain personalized coaching.
Designed to support progress and confidence, STARSkate sets athletes up for success on and off the ice.
