CanSkate
The ultimate learn-to-skate program! Open to ages 3 to adult, it gives skaters a solid foundation for all ice sports and recreational skating. Beginner levels focus on forward and backward skating, glides, stops, turns, and two-foot jumps. Later levels build on previously-taught basic skills in balance, control, and agility. This program also introduces sport-specific skills such as spins and spirals (figure skating) and tight turns and running crossovers (hockey).
CanSkate – Beginner:
· Especially for brand-new skaters, this session is geared to those just starting out and learning to navigate the ice.
· PreCanSkate to CanSkate Stage 2
· Mondays, 3:45-4:15 or Mondays, 4:15-4:45

CanSkate – Intermediate:
· Beginner and intermediate skating skills for those who can already move forwards and backwards on their own – a great opportunity to build skills and confidence for all ice sports

CanSkate – Advanced:
· The highest level of our learn-to-skate program, this is where we begin to develop speed and agility and start to focus on the specialized skills of hockey or figure skating.
· CanSkate Stages 4 through 6
· We highly recommend skaters register for two classes per week to maximize skill development
· Mondays, 4:30-5:15 and/or Thursdays, 5:15-6:00
· $215/session; 25% discount on Winter session when registering for both Fall and Winter sessions
· Full-package fee of $300/session when registering for two classes per week
PowerSkate
We have two levels of hockey-specific training! Pre-Power helps young hockey players with balance, forward and backward skating, stops and turns, with and without sticks and pucks. PowerSkate, for more advanced skaters, builds speed, stamina, and agility in an intense, fast-paced skating workout. Athletes in both levels are encouraged to bring full equipment, a water bottle, and hockey stick. Please note: This is NOT a learn-to-skate program.
Pre-PowerSkate:
· This is NOT a learn-to-skate program; skaters must be able to skate the length of the ice forward and the width backwards
· For hockey players with one to two years experience
Mondays, 3:45-4:30

PowerSkate:
· Strong skating ability and minimum three years hockey experience required
· Open to skaters with skills at CanSkate Stage 5 level up to Junior B hockey

Adult/TeenSkate
Gives adult skaters space and guidance to learn and develop skating skills at their own pace to reach personal goals. This program covers all basic fundamental skating principles for recreational, figure, and power skating, and gives you lots of opportunities to explore and develop the kind of skating you want to do.
· Beginner and intermediate skating skills in an adult-friendly format
· Choose your focus: CanSkate Stages 1 through 6; PowerSkating drills and skills; Introductory figure skating skills

Academy
A bridge program to help skaters make the transition from CanSkate and StarSkate. It’s an opportunity to hone the basic figure skating skills – edges, turns, step sequences, preliminary jumps, and spin technique – that will serve skaters well in more advanced figure skating disciplines. Full-group and small-group lessons and up to two on-ice sessions per week. We highly recommend skaters register for two or three lessons per week.
· Must have completed CanSkate Stage 4 or higher and be recommended by the Creston Valley coach
· We highly recommend skaters register for two classes per week to maximize skill development
· Tuesdays, 4:15-5:00 and/or Thursdays, 5:15-6:00

StarSkate
An opportunity for skaters of all ages to develop speed, power, and confidence in all disciplines in figure skating: free skate, dance, skills, artistic, and synchronized skating. A combination of group lessons and up to three private lessons per week focus on specific skills for each individual skater. Testing and competition opportunities available throughout the season at additional costs to skaters. Up to three ice sessions per week.
